Today I’ll show you a Substratum Theme called DNA Dark from my friend Mike (xdnax). DNA Dark is inspired by the Material Design from Google. If you want to know more about it, read further, if not, do it anyway… You won’t be disappointed. Promise!
The statusbar is, depends on what you choose in Substratum, stock or a bit different. But convince yourself.
You can choose between the stock look (in my case the bold battery circle option from AOSIP)
or the themed battery from the theme.
Usually I like the bold battery circle lot due to its minimal design but, I have to admit that the portrait themed battery icon from DNA Dark made me change my mind!
For the notifications you can choose from 2 different styles: dark and white.
I prefer the dark one. The design is minimal and eye candy with its blue or red (your choice again) divider between the quick settings panel and the notification area.
The red version is called Infected (I really like that)
The Quick Settings
Now let’s directly jump over to the QS Panel. The panel is quite stockish with a decent dark experience. The background fits flat and what I like the most about the QS panel is the brightness slider. If your choice for additional system settings is faded sliders the brightness slider has a slight fade out from the left. Very nice looking imo.
For the settings you also have two choices to pick from.
Section Style and Header (Flat) Style
The settings overview looks very clean and modern. Overall it’s a great fresh design with cool graphical elements and a nice finish.
The Navigation Bar
DNA Dark offers you different types of navbar styles.
At least we have some cool additional stuff we can choose from.
The theme allows you to change the system animations to:
and let’s you set the notification text to capital letters, and last but not least, as already mentioned, the sliders (like the brightness slider) to faded.
If you got hot while reading this article, just jump over to the PlayStore and download DNA Dark
